Improving the Music Marketplace in the United States

On November the 6th, 2015, “The second Music Industry Forum”held in Communication University of China, the new international exchange center. David herlihy has maintained an intellectual property/new media/entertainment law practice in Newton, Massachusetts since 1993.The professor David herlihy from Northeastern University gave us a wonderful report.This presentation examines the forces that shape copyright policy in the United States, and addresses the specific recommendations of the US Copyright Office to improve the United States music market place in the 21st century. The subject of this report is The Past, Present and Future of Copyright in the United States Music Industry. As technology develops, Copyright law is predicated on the idea of promoting progress。Music is more available now than it has ever been. Music also enhances films, television, advertising, apps and video games. A musical recording encompasses two distinct works of authorship. In the course of the lecture, the professor has made a detailed definition and classification of the music copyright, so that we have a more sober understanding of the music copyright.During the meeting, he gave many examples to open up a fresh outlook for us. These cases could have far-reaching consequences for the music industry.Guests and the audience are deeply immersed in the report of the professor David herlihy.
